Managing the Stress Response in Our Clients.
When do emotional management techniques become relevant?
I designed this portion of the course for the Family Law Sector, but we soon see how transferrable these subjects and skill sets are. Family law outcomes involve managing an individual’s journey through perhaps one of the most stressful periods of their life, while communicating and negotiating some of the largest and often most complex transactions the individual will ever face.
So here's the hypothetical: can we, by identifying emotional barriers to healthy cognitive functioning (clear thinking), better manage the client through this period? Will understanding the individuals stress response, and how it affects their decision making and rational thinking abilities, facilitate clearer communication and expedite the negotiation process, thereby improving the result for the client?
